Looking for a very versatile pair of black pants (comfy for travel but not joggers/leggings)

Anonymous
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for something good for travel with a comfortable waist band and a wrinkle-resistant fabric, but I don't want sweatpants. Something I could wear to dinner with cute sweater and a pair of nice shoes and look presentable.

I have been looking at places like Athleta and Title 9 but the reviews on a lot of the pants are iffy and some of the cuts are too trendy (so many culotte-type pants, please no wide leg crops). I want a full leg that is not tight (no leggings) but also not really wide leg or voluminous.

Is this an impossible search? I just want a travel option that is an alternative to jeans and a bit more comfy on the plane or on a long car ride, but has a similar versatility to jeans. It seems like a simple ask but I'm getting stuck.

I absolutely love the Everlane dream pant. I have it in green which I coordinate with black, gray and cream tops but the black would be versatile too. Feels like a dream, wrinkle resistant, goes with shoes like loafers, slip on sneakers or even running shoes.

OP here. Thank you! I was looking at these and wondering if they would work. My only reluctance is the waistband. I like to tuck or half tuck t-shirts into things. Does the waistband look bunchy or weird if you tuck things in? Or does it lay fairly flat?

Yes I wear tops tucked with these!

I really like these. They look nice but feel very comfy. And they have pockets which are a must for me these days. Otherwise I’m forever misplacing my phone. https://www.jjill.com/product/pj-affinity-slim-leg-pant?color=3DH

The Delancey pants from Athleta are great! https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=882707012&pcid=999&vid=1&searchText=delaney#pdp-page-content

I also have a pair of the cargos and the flare.

Oh I like these too! I think I'm going to order these and the Everlane pants as well. They are a little different fits so I might just need to try them on to see what makes the most sense. Or maybe I'll keep both! I wasn't looking for something this closely fitted but I could see these being a great alternative to leggings that are easier to dress up. Also love the pockets!

If only they had a pocket on the butt area. Hate when pants don’t.

I hate the length of those.

They look short, which would make some women look dumpy.
