Costco in store vs. Costco instacart?

| It does not make sense financially. If you can't get to the store then you pay more for someone to deliver. But even with Costco free shipping of dry goods (not instacart) it is slightly more expensive. |

| Insta cart prices are way more expensive than costco online and there are tons more fees. That said, i did costco Insta cart last week because i wanted a combination of things that were not all available online and I couldn’t get to the store. $200 in goods, $70 in fees and tip. |

| everything is usually 1-3 dollars more plus fees and tipping -- on a 500 dollar order my guess is about 100 of it I would have saved if I actually had dragged myself to the store. |

| Enought thst i go now instead of delivery which i did in covid. Like $1-2 per thing snd a delivery fee. |

IME, sometimes I have time to hunt for a bargain, and sometimes I don't. Prices vary a little between in-store and Instacart (I gave up on ordering delivery from Costco directly b/c I couldn't get the things I wanted like chicken salad and croissants). Sometimes a few cents, sometimes a couple dollars more.
I have the premium (or whatever it's called) Instacart membership, and I have linked my Costco card to it, and so there's no delivery fee, and the $$ is counting toward my Costco Executive membership rebate. In a typical order of 10-15 items, I might be paying $10-20 more than I would in-store, but I'm saving over an hour of my time + gas. Sometimes that's worth it to me and sometimes not. The big price is usually tip, but TBH, I'd rather tip than battle Costco most days. Since I'm Instacarting at the moment, here are a few examples: The 4-pack of frozen pepperoni pizzas is marked $16.69 on Costco website, and $18.15 on Instacart. The big jug of maple syrup is marked $14.99 on Costco website, and $15.54 on Instacart. The 3-pack of ground beef is $23.99 on Costco website, and $24.74 on Instacart. |

Also I should mention I am VERY susceptible to impulse buys at Costco (and nothing there is under $20, so every impulse can hit hard). Ordering via Instacart probably saves me money in the long run... I order exactly what I need and I'm not tempted to pick up PJs for my kid, a vest for my husband, and a nice bouquet of flowers, which easily adds up to $100 more than I intended to spend. |

Instacart Costco is worth it to me (about $400-$500 once a month) because:
-I don't have to find a parking space in their crowded lot -I don't have to navigate the crowded store/aisles where idiots stop in the middle just to stare -I don't have to wait in a long checkout line There's more, but you get my gist. My time is more important to me than the stress of dealing with all that nonsense in person! |

| I use sameday.costco.com and it seems to be the same prices as at the store by at large. I spend $150-200 on one shopping with tips and I think the tips are well worth it as I don't spend half a day on the weekend on in-person shopping. |
