Security tags on baby clothes -- how to remove

| DCUM, help me out! I live and work for the USG overseas. I was recently in the States for a work-related conference and purchased some clothes at Buy Buy Baby. I think because I had such a huge pile of clothes it was hard for the cashier to keep track of which clothes she had removed the security device from and which she had not. I just got back home and was cutting price tags off of my clothes and discovered two sets of clothes that still have their security tags. Argh! Obviously I'm not going to travel home for this and I won't be back in the States until DD has probably outgrown the clothes. What should I do? Has anyone ever removed these types of tags before and if so, any tips? Thanks in advance! |

Call Buy Buy Baby.
Go to another store and ask. Google "removing security tags" Just FYI - your post smells fishy to me. I wonder if Buy Buy Baby has had any clothing lefts recently. They'd be interested in seeing this post. |

| Thanks 16:03, that's really helpful. I did google a solution but though DCUM might have better advice; I can't go to another store b/c I'm overseas. Do you really think I stole two outfits from Buy Buy Baby and then lived to talk about it on a forum? Give me a break. I called Buy Buy Baby and even though I have a receipt and could prove I purchased the items, their customer service can't accept the item b/c I didn't order it online. |

I used pliers. It was an honest mistake and I was headed out of town and didn't want to fuss with a trip back to the store. DH did it.

| OP here again, thanks for the suggestion of pliers and the wikihow site. DH ended-up using a hammer, pliers and some wire cutters! |

| I thought those things were full of INK that would spill all over the clothes if you tried something like that!? No ruined clothes? huh... |

Only some tags have ink. The tag will say it. |

it has happened to me several times. i wonder what's the use o the damn tag if it doesn't beep when you leave the store ARGH!!!!!
I took it to another store and they removed it. I also was overseas. |
