| All except Florida UGA and UT |
| what is weighted GPA and do you know where they fall within the class? Just looking at this, the harder schools to get into appear to be UGA, Florida, Clemson, UT Austin. Those are likely reaches of this group. |
All except Florda UGA and UT are what? Safeties? Targets? Likely? -Not OP |

Why is he waiting until March to take the SAT?
That will put him out of contention for many scholarships. |
I am assuming because he’s a junior. |
He is a junior |
| If he a Latino then he can get in all of those. Needs at least a 1300 though |
Not sure about weighted but I am being told Admissions recalculate GPA's so figure UW is more important/more realistic. He is telling me that he thinks 3.89 is top 25% |
| Which are in state for him? |

I'm an NC State alum and follow NC schools really closely... There is a pretty large difference between 1200 and 1300, so the score will have an impact.
Even with 1200, he's a slam dunk for UNC Charlotte. With a near 1300, I think he's solid for NC State. But if he's lower than 1250, NC State may be a reach, even as URM. Really depends. Don't apply to College of Engineering if this is the case. UNC Charlotte has a much different vibe than NC State, though. |
Thanks- very helpful. He is interested in business, sport management, criminology- he is all over the place. He LOVED his NCSU visit- loves the campus and the vibe of the city. I agree Charlotte will feel very different. |
| Get him some prep for SAT so he can get that 1300 that will make him more of a shoe in for some of these colleges |
