| Omg! The price of afternoon tea is comparable to the Ritz Carlton! Just before the pandemic it was around $15 per person and it’s now $50! Has anyone been there before and during this new price point? Is the experience remarkably different? |
| They probably have to pay their staff a living wage |
| It was never $15. I took my daughters 5 years ago in Tyson’s. Very pricey. |

That’s a link to a menu where the afternoon tea is priced at $13.50. I have a 13 year old and a 7 year old and have gone to the Tyson’s Corner cafe many times. I know what I’m talking about. |
| I"m in Chicago and the AG Tea here has always been comparable to the Drake, Palm Court etc |
Well that settles it. Dress the doll in her Sunday best and take your daughter and her to the Ritz for tea. At least the food will be better than the Gordon/Sysco generic frozen crap heated and served at AG |
| Are you kidding me? The Caroline doll was retired in 2015, so this is from at least 7 years ago, not “right before the pandemic”. |
Also, it's Orlando. |
|
It was $20 in 2012!

This is from a blog in Orlando in 2014. |

OP here—🙄
I should have known better than to come here for anything constructive. Moving on. |
| this was actually pretty constructive. DCUM provided perspective and information, you only wanted to vent. |
| Not related, but do we have little girl tea in dmv area? Not for the doll. |
No way. I'm not OP, but I took my DD to a "birthday lunch" at the American Girl store in Chicago for the 2 of us maybe 5 yrs ago. Even a full lunch was not $50 each. I forget the exact cost, but it was probably in the $20 per person range |
No! OP KNOWS WHAT SHE’S TALKING ABOUT |
