Electric vehicles are exploding

What happens to the batteries once they reach their end of life cycle?

Another problem with the green movement doesn't talk about is, the environmental impacts of electric vehicles. They cause more environmental damage than the total effect of gas powered vehicles. Sure, they reduce carbon when they are running, but in order to produce them, it’s 500 times or more a negative impact to the environment than a gas powered vehicle. Also, most of the lithium comes from China.

Tell that to your Twitter boy Elon, Faux News.

Define 500x or more the environmental impact please?

I’m no environmentalist nor did I write the article.

What article? Please cite.

The batteries are actually in high demand even after the cars reach the end of their life cycle. They can be used to store energy from solar panels.

This article is about waterlogged electric vehicles from the hurricane catching fire. It says nothing about their larger environmental impact. I think prior pp is just making things up.

I wonder if more cars have that happen or if more gas engine cars catch fire? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this. lol.

LOL. That's not "500x" worse environmental impact.

Not very good at math, eh?

In theory? They are taken to a hazmat processing facility and the toxic materials inside them are reclaimed and the rare earth and precious metals are recycled and put back into the resource stream.

In practice? Leaking poison in perpetuity at the bottom of landfill.

Even taking all the indirect emission into account, electric cars are still significantly cleaner than gas powered. You can’t forget that gas powered vehicles have dirty manufacturing processes too.
