Train from London to Liverpool -- where are the 2 hour trains?

Anonymous
I'm trying to buy train tickets from London to Liverpool later this month. I keep reading that the train runs every hour from Euston to Lime Street and takes about 2:15. But when I try to buy tickets there are no hourly departures and the only options are 3.5 to 4.5 hour trips with a train change on the way. I understand there are staffing issues on Avanti ... but will the direct 2 hour trip tickets come on sale closer to my travel date?

Oh, Sunday is your problem. The fast trains are only on weekdays.

I mean.. it’s Liverpool. No one actually wants to go there! (Joking! I’m a Londoner!)

My wife is the Liverpool fan. Fortunately we are also catching a game at the Emirates during our visit.

I'm so jealous. I wish Liverpool was the team they were last year. Man City is scary now with Haaland. Good luck.

Ditto. Tots... Sometimes they're like a bad boyfriend who leaves you after spending the night and steals most of your jewelry before sneaking out. Doesn't matter Harry, Son, Hugo I still love you no matter how much you hurt me.

In 2019 we took a train from Manchester to Liverpool and did the Beatles tour, which was really nice.
