Indigenous Tribes Push Back Against Evangelical Missionaries

Interesting mini-documentary from VICE News.

Haven't played it, but not surprised by the idea that indigenous people are pushing back.

I bet people have been doing that since the very first time people tried to force their religious on people they felt were inferior to them or that they had conquered.

There's push back, but it usually doesn't last. To the victors go the spoils.

You know indigenous tribes all over the world have been doing this to missionaries ever since those idiots thought it was part of God's work to go and bother them on their land? Missionaries have been killed, scalped, boiled alive, eaten, etc...

Having lived in an African country, I can say they also do good work

Missionaries also do good work, while bothering indigenous tribes on their own land.

Go back further in time to when the missionaries, as part of colonization, created all the problems they now work on. I loathe missionary work in almost all aspects; they have had such a severe net negative on just about every group they’ve touched.

If we could all live together in peace....that would be nice. It's 2022. I am tired.

Having lived in Haiti, I can say the missionaries are the only ones digging wells and running health clinics and schools in some rural parts of the country.

I mean, both of these statements are true…about pretty much everyone and everything on Earth.
