It's been raining non-stop for like the last week. So sick of how it always seems to be so wet all of the time. Our backyard has been like marsh lands for the entire summer. Last year, I remember August too getting tremendous amounts of rain. No wonder mosquitoes are so bad in the DMV. I grew up in the Mid-Atlantic too, and never recall it raining so much. A lot of our plants outside keep dying or getting disease because of rootrot and fungal growth, a lot of which I believe is due to it constantly being so wet all of the time. Are we turning into the new Seattle area? |
It rained only a handful of times in the prior month |
Yes!! It has been like this since I’ve lived here. I think we got More rain than Seattle last year, or maybe it was 2020? Either way, we’re def up there |
hahaha, no. This is unusual. |
You can see the yearly averages for total precipitation in Maryland have been going up since the 2000s. http://marylandclimateandweather.weathertogether.net/maryland-statewide-average-precipitation-1895-2017/ Spring though early fall have been very wet compared to decades prior why winters are drier (because we don't even get snow anymore). |
Hurricane Ian |
I mean- there was a hurricane that merged with a low. No, it’s not always like this. |
+1 You do know that this is remnants from a hurricane, right? |
Not always.
Sometimes it’s miserably, unbearably hot and humid. The rest of the time it’s cold and miserable, but without snow. |
Is it always so cold and dry around here? It hasn't rained in a week. I am getting worried. |
