DS is a hs junior and will be going to his first homecoming dance. He wants to wear khakis and a blazer, and says that boys wear “dressy sneakers” now instead of sperry or oxfords. I have no idea what he is asking for (nor does he really, he can’t tell me where we can shop for these). I’d like to order offer zappos if possible. Does anyone know whay kind of shoes he is talking about? He is very socially awkward and wants to fit in and I am doing my best to help. Thanks for your kindness. |
Jordans, Blazers, Converse - flashy and clean. |
the super expensive Jordans are the coolest, acc to my teen sons. (who do not have them!) |
Mine aren't into the flashy sporty sneakers; their dress sneakers are black leather lace up white soled sneakers.

Thank you, all! I have always like converse, but I suspect my son will like plain sneakers like the blacks ones shown by PP. Thank you, all! |
My kids wear all black Adidas or Nikes as dress shoes. |
They want the clean all white sneakers. |
Ecco has something similar. |
+1 on Jordan’s |
Nike Jordans, Nike Blazers. White is popular. |
I just bought a deeply discounted Allen Edmonds version (usually $$) for my wide-footed kid on Amazon. |
. These are not dress sneakers. |
Nike dunks |
OK. They are what my teen boy and his friends call dress sneakers. They wear them to homecoming and with suits on other occasions. Several other posters mentioned the same thing. |
