How is your school with confidentiality?

Do teachers talk about private issues regarding your child in front of other parents? Are parents who volunteer privy to any private info like a child's diagnosis?

My child is finishing a private preschool, and one of the moms (a friend of mine) volunteers quite a bit, and she has told me that the teacher has made comments to her about other kids and their parents. I am a teacher, and I was furious! She didn't want to get the teacher in trouble, and she never repeated to me the garbage that came out of the teacher's mouth. The teacher is very young, and obviously doesn't have a clue (really...no excuse). I am glad that we are leaving!!

I haven't heard of that and haven't seen it happen. If a teacher started talking to me about CONFIDENTIAL matters of another child I would politely change the subject on the assumption that if someone gosss TO you, they are likely to gossip ABOUT you too.
