DoorDash vs Ubereats

Anonymous
I am behind the pack and have never used a food delivery service. Ready to sign up as I need to travel overseas to tend to a sick parent and think this would be good for DH and kids while I am gone. Any recommendations about which is better in the Bethesda or broader DC area? Do they cost the same in terms of fees? I think I can get a free DoorDash account for 12 months with one of my credit cards but don't know whether that actually saves much. Appreciate any advice!

We use Doordash with our Chase card. We get free delivery (which most everyone gets anyway) and reduced DD fees. We use it enough that it makes a difference.

In our area all the delivery services pretty deliver for the same restaurants.

Door Dash has had drivers eat the food we ordered. Not a fan.

Look at both apps and see which one has more restaurants you would want to order from. In my area it's DoorDash so that's what I got the plan for (through my credit card as a 12 month offer). All the apps have drivers that signed up with a minimal background check so sometimes you get great ones and sometimes crappy ones. For the most part though, I get my food and most restaurants do seal the bags so you know it's not tampered with.
