IVF & prednisone - did you take it?

Anonymous
My clinic says it’s optional but generally recommended. I took prednisone (unrelated) in the past and remember feeling pretty crappy / gaining weight - but if I should take it obviously I will. Thoughts?

Yes, I took it. I have endometriosis, and as a result have free fluid in my pelvis and inflammation. The RE said I should take it to reduce inflammation before the transfer (I had surgery to clean out the endo a few months before, too).
The prednisone wasn’t a high dose and it wasn’t for long - I think it was between the retrieval and the transfer. I didn’t even feel it. It was 10 years ago so I don’t remember details, but it was at the same time that I was taking the antibiotics.
IVF worked on the first try: fresh transfer of 2 5-day blasts, and we have twins.

I did not because I'm going through Topical Steroid Withdrawal and didn't want to risk my body on any sort of steroid, had two REs say it's fine not to.
