Looking for a SMALL toddler friendly all-inclusive caribbean/central american resort?

Anonymous

Looking for a recommendation for a toddler friendly all-inclusive caribbean/central american resort/hotel.

Ideally a place that is on the smaller side, decent food, really shallow pools and possibly a small kid play area.

Do not want a 800 room Ibero star type place - doesn't have to be teeny but don't need like like 7 swim up bars or anything.

Priorities are zero entrance pool and nice beach, and bonus points for local feel/local foods and comfortable beds.

a couple years ago we went to the Jewel Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. It was a good fit for little kids and it was not a mega resort. However, our kids were maybe 3 and 5 and used the kids clubs and waterpark (there's a small children area) I think there were some other small resorts nearby. The rooms were fine, the food pretty good, the beach really nice (much better than the riviera maya). When my kids were young I relied on the family vacation critic website--lots of info on size, ages of kid clubs, whether there are good family amenities.

Thanks all! Maybe I should have clarified - I'm looking for a really small place - like maybe max 100 rooms or suites? And a kiddie-zero entrance pool. Usually the small resorts are adults only/couples focused, so I know I'm asking for something a bit unusual - don't even know if it exists?

Curtain Bluff Antigua has an outdoor play area and lovely beach-pool has steps though.

Sounds like what you actually want is a smaller timeshare type place that rents units. Not sure of one with zero entry pool.

Really hoping for an all inclusive if possible - part of the vacation will be not thinking about/making food!

There's Jumby Bay but not sure about the zero entry pool, or your budget.

Grand Case Beach Resort in St. Martin but don’t know about a zero entry pool.

FDR resort in Jamaica— something like 80 rooms/suites total, and you get your own vacation nanny. Very toddler friendly!

We stayed at a Caribbean Club Med a few weeks back (not Cancun) and found it really... cruise-ship-y? The Mini Club Med piece was great, but hated all the unspoken rules (could only get reservations at a certain block of time for the single sit-down restaurant, they always were booked up even when we were there right at the booking time) and spent a week eating at a buffet. Blech!
