Best baklava in DC?

Anonymous
Everyplace I’ve tried lately, blech—dry, over baked, no flavor. Where’s the best?

Does it have to be in DC proper? This place is right across from the Clarendon Metro:

Every few months St. Mary’s Armenian church in Tenleytown does a food festival and the baklava is to die for.

The absolute best I've had in DC was at the Greek Deli. Delicious. I could have been on Santorini. The thing is, it was $8 for a diamond-shaped sliver two inches wide and one inch high. |
(I didn't see the price till the guy rang it up - that $8 was worth it because it's cheaper than a ticket to Athens but I'm not going to buy it regularly)

Trader Joe's made amazing baklava in 2006-2007. Why did you stop Trader Joe's? You need to bring it back and also the tart frozen yogurt. That was the shit.

I have to order from Shatila in Michigan. Haven’t been able to find any decent spots either but I’m sure they are out there!

Agree with PPs who suggested you should just order from Shatila. They ship overnight, it's fresh.
