APS HS Graduation Date?

Anyone know when the graduation date for W-L will be finalized? Need to plan some travel for June ‘23. Thank you!

I was wondering that too. When do we find out APS graduation dates?

Is it not the last day of high school? I can't imagine kids going back to high school after graduation, or having their last day and then having graduation some time after that.

No, all high schools do not have graduation on the same day. Here was the schedule last year:

New Directions June 13 10:00 a.m. Langston Gym
Arlington Career Center June 14 6:00 p.m. W-L Auditorium Watch on Youtube
H-B Woodlawn June 15 6:15 p.m. H-B Woodlawn Watch on Youtube
Washington-Liberty June 16 10:00 a.m. DAR Constitution Hall Watch on Youtube
Yorktown June 16 3:00 p.m. DAR Constitution Hall Watch on Youtube
Wakefield June 16 7:30 p.m. DAR Constitution Hall Watch on Youtube
Arlington Community High School June 17 9:30 a.m. W-L Auditorium Watch on Youtube
Langston June 17 1:00 p.m. W-L Auditorium Watch on Youtube

They get out of school BEFORE graduation. The three big schools graduate from DAR in DC... no way could they do that on the last day of school.

Is this decided at a board meeting in the coming months or do high schools have this info now?

It will probably be June 14 or 15. It’s probably not set because DAR Constitution Hall hasn’t set their schedule. One year APS had to shift graduation dates because of something with DAR.

Keep in mind that each of the non-big High Schools (i.e. Yorktown, W-L, and Wakefield) is considered a "program" so that their graduates technically graduate from one of the "big 3" (and they have the chance to walk at those graduations if they want). That's why all the other programs have different days than the high schools.
