| 43 years old. Looking at SG's 1:2 program one cycle (with FET as backup) or 1:3 shared risk. We would at most go through 3 tries before we're done. We have one child (5) so would be trying for one more max. We would be paying out of pocket except for some meds. Fed BCBS PPO. Thanks for your advice! |
| If I already had one child I’d pick shared risk. We did frozen shared risk though, pregnant on second transfer from the same donor. It was a relief knowing we’d get most of the money back if it didn’t work out for whatever reason. |
we did 1:3 shared risk. our first one failed, and i picked a new donor after that. i wasn't too optimistic about our second cycle and had plans to only do one more round and then get our money back. having that peace of mind helped. BUT the cycle worked! she's a beautiful 6 yo.
with the first donor, i was trying to get somewhat similar looks to me. but second round, i focused on age and going with my gut. good luck! |
one more thing -- FWIW i'm also Fed BC/BS PPO and was 43 with a 4yo. i'm guessing you've already been through a lot in this process, but i found it a lot less mentally taxing than everything else we had done that led us to that point. and my pregnancy was easy. |
| thank you so much for sharing! very encouraging! |
