Senior Transcript Request

Does your MCPS high school have a protocol for requesting transcripts for college applications and what is it? I’m trying to figure out if the issue I’m having with our high school is because of a district wide policy or if it is high school based but it seems like they just won’t send the transcripts and won’t tell anyone when they plan to send the transcripts.

How long does it take your school to send?

We needed to sign an authorization to release the records.
Submit Brag Sheet through Naviance for counselor recommendation (Brag Sheet queues counselor to write recommendation)
Submit Transcript request through Naviance
Pay for the transcript on School Cash (first 3 are free)
Bring receipt to counseling department secretary and she will verify that payment was made and verifies Naviance requests.

I don't know when they are actually sent. I recall hearing at one of the presentations that counselor recommendations and transcripts are sent at the same time, and that is why they needed the brag sheet relatively early. But I could have heard that wrong.

You can go to the office and request a copy in writing, along with your payment. Best to have all copies sent to you and you send out to appropriate colleges.

Our procedure is similar. I believe our college counselor say to submit at least 3 weeks before the deadline.
