What percentage of positive for Covid students & staff at a school will trigger new guidance?

I get that we’re unlikely to ever again see a district wide return of the mandatory mask policy or virtual learning. However, it is my understanding a specific school might get new guidance if it reaches a certain threshold of positives. Does anyone know that threshold and can provide a link to the source?

Previously it was 5% of students and staff over the last 14 days, which lines up with the Maryland Department of Health’s definition of a school-wide outbreak. They might reinstitute a mask mandate in that case. I can’t imagine they’d do anything beyond that.

Virtual learning, lol. No, MCPs offers Virtual Academy for this reason.

No transition back to virtual learning. That was a useless, unnecessary failure, now that we look back with hindsight.

There was an outbreak in one of my son’s classes, and everyone in the class was told to mask at school for two weeks I think. Maybe 10 days. My son wears a mask every day, anyway, so we didn’t focus too much on the details.

Sorry, hit send too soon. The policy was triggered because 3 or more kids in the same class came down with it.

Mine was absolutely certain he had Covid. We got a pile of take home tests and kept him at home.

Three days so far. Never turned positive.

OMG look into therapy if you think MCPS should have COVID protocols. Covid is over!! Biden even said it!

Are you going to wear a mask and be scared the rest of your life? We have the shots, we have milder strains, etc. What is the endgame here of when you will feel "Safe"?

If he has symptoms I would get a PCR. I was negative on 3 PCRS and then positive on a PCR. I would not bother if no symptoms though.
