APS does not report covid cases anymore, correct?

My daughter is in kindergarten, and our family somehow has not gotten covid yet. DH and I are inclined to wait to get boosters until later in the fall so that they will still be effective in the worst of winter, but if we knew there were a bunch of cases in her class or even her school or the schools in general, we’d go ahead with the shots. But that info is no longer reported, right?

Correct. They are not tracking close contacts either.

Wow only 104 in the past week- so much better than 100+ a day back in the spring!

Wow, I figured there'd be a few of Arlington residents among the tiny % of people under 50 who get boosters in the US (I'm sure we're also represented of the total of 6% of 6 mo to 4 year olds vaccinated in the US too).

Have fun with the 8-mice, non-human tested booster. Denmark isn't even recommending anyone younger than 50 get boosted.

Have you ever gotten a flu shot? It’s the same protocol.

I mean, take the stats for what they're worth. Many parents on these boards have said they don't really test anymore and APS isn't sending out that daily reminder anymore (I still test but I don't miss that reminder aargh!). Are there a hundred cases a day? No probably not, but if there were would this dashboard be capturing them? Also probably not; it's probably only showing some much smaller fraction of actual cases than the prior dashboard.

Hey, we all got boosted. All my kids have had at least one Covid case in their class so far (and those are ones I know about!), so I figured why not? The boosters have been safe. I would say side effects for me were a little better this time than last.

We got the new boosters. With how contagious it is I'm sure it's spreading around the schools wether it's reported or not.

They're not 100% safe. There are side effects, including tiny risks of serious side effects. And there's 0 data showing they reduce serious illness in someone who is under 50 years old who was previously infected. The trials specifically excluded that for the boosters or the vaccine (you can't find out news you don't want to know if you don't test it as a variable).

So you're likely taking in more risks than benefits. It's why the country of Denmark isn't offering boosters to people under 50.And kids getting boosted is completely unheard of in many places in Europe and most of America (UK no longer even recommends vaccinating under 18). But you guys do you.

Fauci said everyone is at risk of COVID so you must do it (even though before the vaccine, COVID had an infection fatality rate less than the flu for those under 50). Odds are, you also have a Ukraine flag up on your house and a sign in your front yard that says "In this house, we believe in..."

Excellent. Asymptomatic testing is school closures by stealth and completely nuts. It's an endemic virus folks, time to move on.

Do we do it for other endemic viruses like the flu? No, otherwise we'd never have been able to run society.

Most familes I know had it this summer if they didn’t have it omicrom. We will have another wave in the winter.

Well, you do you, too.

Unfortunately, some people have learned nothing from the pandemic and are still sending sick kids to school. And not just with COVID. Please: help the school community stay healthy and keep them home if they're sick.

Runny nose and congestion are not reasons to keep a kid home if they are fever free, not lethargic and not testing positive for Covid, flu, strep, etc. Some children have asthma or allergies and while you may think they are sick, unfortunately it’s symptoms they live with all season long.
