I am power walking daily and ISO comfortable shoes, and would appreciate suggestions. |
I would look at running shoes - Brooks, Nike and Adidas are my go-to. |
Hokas |
New Balance |
I alternate between Brooks and New Balance. I walk ~7-10 miles a day. |
Merrell Walking shoes - not the boots which are waterproof because they literally make my feet very hot (no other shoe does this) but the summer version, the aerated walking shoes. They are excellent and they last a very long time. |
go to a running store and get fitted. really depends on your feet. |
Try more than one running store and see what they say. Our area has numerous of them. |
Depends on your feet. I wear Brooks adrenaline for walking but I need a stability shoe for my pronation. You might need something different. |
I wear Brooks Glycerin with my custom orthotics. If you are having any soreness, look into orthotics and then get a good neutral shoe like Glycerins. I had so much pain, it's life changing to have orthotics!
If you don't need orthotics, go to a running store anyways to find out if you pronate or have any other specific needs. |
I just went to Potomac River Runners today to get to shoes to walk in but, also ride my bike casually (5-8 miles...nothing far) and they were great. I would recommend going to one of their stores and getting fitted. I ended up with a great shoe with much more stability and arch support. It feels like walking on a cloud. |
+1 for Brooks
Currently I’m wearing Ghosts. They are like a hug for my foot |
I used to love Saucony but my feet have changed over the years. Now I am wearing Ryka. |
this. depends on whether you overpronate, underpronate, have flat feet, high arches. . . and don't make the mistake like me and powerwalk through pain. |
