How many recess aides are required officially?

I’m trying to find out if there is a particular ratio of adults required at recess. Schools are way understaffed right now and I’m just looking for info on what is legally required. I’m staff, not a parent.

When my kid was in K pre-pandemic, it was 1 aide for every 50 kids. We had just 4 for over 200 kids. They needed a ton of parent volunteers to make it work. I remember the aides were so overwhelmed some of them would just scream at the kids the whole time.

+1 this was the ratio pre-pandemic for my early elem kids
