Did prometrium "jump start" work?

Hi - my history - off pill last summer, periods immediately back to normal, conceived on first try in late Dec, no HB at 8 weeks and had D&C in Feb. Period then did not return and progesterone test showed no ovulation since the surgery. I was given prometrium to "jump start" after 9-10 weeks, took all pills and got normal period immediately after stopping (within 24 hours). We "tried" this month - no charting, etc bc I had no idea if/when I'd ovulate, but we weren't preventing. It's now 4 weeks since the prometrium-induced period and no AF yet but my cycle before the mc was 28-35 days.

So I guess what I'm asking is - has this 'jump start' worked for anyone? Did the prometrium signal your system to start ovulating etc? Not sure if I should take an HPT if I don't get AF soon...

I would go ahead and take the HPT just to be sure since it did start your period the month prior. My experience with prometrium was it didn't work at all. I had a natural MC at 5 weeks, when period did not show at 8 weeks they put me on prometrium, still didn't show. At 12 weeks, put me on it again, still no luck. Period finnaly showed at about 16 weeks post MC, not normal at all...When period did finally show I was ovulatory, but periods were super light and short.
