My friend is reaching out to a dietician, but has anyone here BTDT? Last time, it was easier for me to cook all sorts of fattening dishes because friend did not yet have diabetes, but now I cannot rely on, for example, potatoes. Any tips would be appreciated Thanks.
Peanut butter milkshakes made with keto vanilla ice cream
I’m not diabetic, but post my second BMT, I ate nuts, eggs, cheese, and fatty fish to gain weight.
You might want to check with the endocrinologist. There is a somewhat paradoxical relationship between insulin and weight gain; however, adequate weight loss has been observed to resolve type 2 diabetes in some cases.
Chia seeds. If you give them more than two teaspoons a day, they will start putting on weight. Peanut butter and avocado.
How can something that’s pretty much pure fiber put on weight? OP, I’m not saying this to be a jerk, but didn’t their oncologist/endo give any guidance? |
Did the oncologist recommend this?
This is the type of situation where you need a good dietician (not some hack) who has preferably had experience working at a hospital with medically complex patients
OP, if you get an answer would you post it? I'm the spouse of a diabetic who is underweight and struggles with the same thing and is somewhat resistant to getting outside help.
There are 27 calories and 1.7 grams fat in 1 tsp of chia seeds. Hardly weight gain inducing |
