Is this for an adult or a kid (meaning, does it have to be a "birthday cake," or do you just want a good cake)? Bread Furst usually has cakes available; you could call and ask what they have that day.

You don't know any good bakeries. Costco cakes are fine if I need a cake for my kid and his 20 friends, but let's not pretend it compares to a great bakery cake.
