Middle School Honor Roll

Does it do anything? Is it an official part of a student record? Or does it help with Magnet applications?

The bar for honor roll is very low. It's a participation prize.

The grades themselves are taken into account for magnet admissions and are part of a student’s records. Honor Roll is just recognition of students who are earning good grades.

Do all schools have this? I have not seen it at ours. Is it for all MS grades?

Technically all schools have it. Some choose to acknowledge the kids with assemblies and swag. Others do it without hoopla. My DDs attended a school that had the big public ceremony with ribbons and a bumper stickers for your parents’ cars. I teach at a school that gives your first period teacher a photocopied certificate that you get handed one day in class.
