I’m out of town and noticed it in the shower this morning when washing my hair. It’s a bit sore to the touch like a bruise when I put pressure on it and the area is the size of a pepperoni. It’s a somewhat raised bump/firm.
I googled head bumps and nothing listed sounded serious. I won’t be able to see my doctor for a couple of weeks. Has anyone had something similar to this before? It just appeared over night. Now when I lay down and put pressure on that part of my head I definitely feel it. Any ideas what I’m experiencing? I am a 50 year old female, otherwise healthy. |

A pepperoni? I love that you used that comparison!
That happened to me once, I think I had bumped my head the day before and forgot about it. It took several days to go away. |
Were you drinking last night?
Lipoma?
A zit/cyst? I sometimes get these (but smaller) behind my ear when I'me exercising outside in humid hot weather...just sweatier and more prone to acne I guess.
Bug bite?
Could it be a swollen gland?
Pilar cyst.
Sounds like a swollen lymph node. Your body is probably fighting something, it should go away!
Doesn't everyone have bumps back there? Maybe you usually never notice them. You could have sore muscles from carrying luggage over your shoulder, since you say you are out of town.
Spider bite
Happened to my son after a spider or mosquito bite right after Covid shot. Doctor thinks heightened immune response from Covid shot carried to the bug bite
Might be an ingrown hair.
