There is no way my mailed in ticket will get to MCDOT in time.
Is there a physical building I can go to? The clerk I am emailing with says no but I imagine there is. Cranky. They gave me $45 ticket when 6 minutes left on meter. I went out of town soon after & left the ticket behind do could not get to on time to mail. I paid electronically & would gladly show them my proof. I want a hearing. |
| Go to the courthouse with ticket in hand and request a court date. Unless you have an abundance of free time though to go to court I would have just paid it. |
| I’m confused. You paid the ticket electronically? AND u want a hearing? |
That is what their counting on. I have flexible schedule. It’s just infuriating. That meter maid can show up too. |
| Do you have any proof? |
|
I paid by credit card. On my statement.
I was this close to taking a photo of the meter & my car at the start of the timer but was like “nah” So crummy of them. I can swing $45 but I was in very mixed HHI area. I think officer should be put on notice. |
| I’ve paid parking tickets before in the little office within the public parking garage on Cheltenham in Bethesda next to Chevy Chase Cars. It’s on this list of other locations that might be closer to you than that https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Parking/FAQ/contact-info.html |
I was unclear. I do not want to pay it. I want to trial/hearing/whatever to contest it but if I mail it in my request won’t make in time. I went to county offices in Rockville & one of the court offices. No one knew how to tell me where I could physically submit my request to contest the ticket. |
| I’ve had the same thing happen using parkmobile in Bethesda. It made me so mad. I requested a court date and ticket was dismissed. You are right, they are counting on you just saying - “oh it’s only $45, it’s not worth my time” |

I wish County made it as easy as Rockville.
It lists where to go AND accepts disputes electronically https://www.rockvillemd.gov/2306/Parking-Tickets |
The OP was confusing, but it seems to be the OP paid for the meter electronically and had 6 minutes left on the meter when the ticket was given to her. She does not want to pay the ticket, but wants a hearing to contest the ticket and she wants the county meter maid or officer to get a slap on the wrist. |
Op needs to fight it. They make a boatload of money and people saying oh well, I’d rather pay the money. It’s about the principle. |
