Before this year I was always able to read submission comments on assignments in the parent version of Canvas. This year I don’t see the submission comments when I click the notifications or emails. This is true of both my MS and HS kids. I also no longer see the assignment grade in Canvas but it is in the email notification.
Did MCPS turn off the feature on the parent side? |
| Why are you reading submission comments for your middle and high school kids - that is the real question |
Not OP, but some parents have kids with executive functioning issues. In those cases, I encourage parents to read the comments so that they can assist their child is submitting late work or finishing a partially completed assignment. —veteran current MS teacher with additional years teaching HS. |
Op here and thank you for your kind reply. My kids both have 504 plans and I use the teacher comments to help guide them on their school work. Even if they didn't have 504s, I would still review their graded school work, just like our parents did when physical papers came home in our back packs. It is the same concept, simply digital. |
| OP--I'm not seeing comments for many classes, but I do see them (in parentvue/canvas link) for one class. So I think it might be teacher-related. |
