recommendaions for top load washer with agitator

Anonymous
Our laundry space is small and only accommodates a top load washer. Our current washer doesn't have an agitator and it washes terribly (doesn't seem to clean very well, and everything just gets super twisted on itself). Does anyone have recommendations for a top load washer with an agitator?

I take it the Speed Queen is not EnergyStar.

Love how it is compared to Grandmom's washer.

I got this one a few months ago and I am VERY happy with it: https://www.geappliances.com/appliance/GE-4-2-cu-ft-Capacity-Washer-with-Stainless-Steel-Basket-GTW525ACPWB

Thanks everyone!

I'm not entirely opposed to ones with impellers instead of agitators, I just haven't had much luck with the impellers actually cleaning the clothes and not just turning them into a twisted mess.

We have an old kenmpre and its no bells or electronic panels. Love it.

+1. I got it b/c it was the only thing that fit my small space, but I love it.

Did you buy yours recently? There were a spate of negative reviews about SQ not too long ago, so I’m curious to know if they changed anything.

Different PP, but got ours in the spring. Love it so far and SQ has a longer standard warranty than most of the other brands, so we'll see if that's needed.

PP- mine is about a year old. Highly recommend. My clothes are much cleaner.

I had the same experience. I gave away an almost new HE top loader and bought a Speed Queen.

They came out with an HE model that got the same bad reviews that all HE washers get. They subsequently returned to making the fried and true model.
