What time do you typically need to be at the Rockville office for an egg retrieval with SGF? Trying to coordinate to have someone watch our son on that day, if needed. My hope is that it would be after 8am (and we can drop him at daycare while in Rockville). Any idea if we can request a certain time or if it's possible to do it later in the morning?
It can really be anytime from like 6am until like 1pm. I think they are very resistant to requests, unless there is a medical reason, which I kind of get because it could be a lot to manage but also it also makes it difficult for people in your situation or people who need a ride. Anyways you should ask and see. I’d ask early in your cycle, by the time of trigger it’s too late because they’ve already scheduled everything.
My egg retrieval was a 2PM. I had to be there at 12:30, and I was released around 4PM.

I’ve had 2 retrievals at 10:15am and 1 at 3:15pm. You arrive 90 minutes ahead of your retrieval time and plan to be there for about 4 hours.
A receptionist told me that SGF likes to fill in time slots of their appointments (other than the monitoring ones) in chronological order. My guess is it’s the same for the retrievals too. I was the last patient on a Friday monitoring appointment, which ended up being the day of my trigger shot. On Sunday, my retrieval was at 3:15pm and I was again the last patient. My guess is if you’re trying to aim for a later time, don’t have your monitoring appointments first thing in the morning around days when you think they will trigger you. |
Op here. Thank you for the responses! This is very helpful
