Crystal City Children's Center

Looking at switching daycares for soon to be 3-year-old. Any parents have current feedback on Crystal City Children's Center?

Seems like a great-quality program but I want to know details on:

-sick policies/COVID policies (how it's been in practice, not just what their rules are--overly strict COVID policy is our reason for considering leaving our current daycare)

-current tuition rate for 3-year-old classroom

-any other miscellaneous feedback you have

Absolutely recommend it! Both of my kids started attending CCCC when they were 6 months old. My older one just started kindergarten and my younger one is still at CCCC.

All the teachers are amazing and caring. The staff turnover is relatively low comparing to some other daycare in this area. My two kids were 4 years apart; my younger one had the same infant/toddler room teachers as my older one.

The pre-k classroom is very good academically. My older kid is well prepared for kindergarten and way ahead of his peers in reading and spelling. However I understand some parents may prefer less structured learning in pre-k so it really depends on the parents/kids.

They used to have a very strict Covid policy (masks for 2yo and above), but after the October board meeting and parents' survey, they relaxed the policy and now it is mask optional

I know they currently have vacancies in several classrooms. Feel free to ask me any questions!

Thanks PP, this is really helpful and encouraging. Unfortunately I looked into it further and it's way out of our price range.

It's on their website https://crystalcitychildrenscenter.org/ (just scroll down to the blue section). In my experience it is accurate.

Starting Nov 1 parents are allowed inside the building with masks, although my understanding is parents are not allowed inside the classroom. Usually I just pick up my kid at the entrance of his classroom. Parents still have the option to pick up and drop off without going inside the building if they wish.

Infant room has been allowing parents to go inside the classroom throughout the past 2 years, and I believe it's still the case.
