suggestions for pool makeup?

Don't laugh, I'm going on a first weekend away with my new boyfriend and we're still in that stage where he hasn't seen me without makeup. Any suggestions for waterproof makeup for the pool? Or other suggestions for a weekend away?

Please don't wear makeup in a pool.

He would probably like to see you without makeup. I assume you’ve spent the night together? Do you get up early to brush teeth and do your hair & makeup?

What kind of makeup? You shouldn’t have much trouble finding waterproof eyeliner or lip color, but face makeup doesn’t really do well underwater…

I have REALLY dark undereye circles and it looks bad. Would like to keep them covered.

Are you planning to go fully underwater, or just splashing around? If the latter you might be okay with your regular makeup.

So you also wear makeup to bed??

I feel you OP. I have always been self conscious of my skin and I also have dark circles. Use self tanner in days leading up to to mitigate it a little. Maybe do a cream blush on your cheeks and play up your eyes a bit.

I feel you, OP. I do pool makeup on trips.

Usually just the tiniest bit of pencil eyeliner on the top and bottom smudged with a brush and a light coat of mascara. On my face I either do just a touch of cream blush on my cheeks or a little bronzer powder.

But I also don't really swim either. If I was planning on actually swimming and going underwater I wouldn't bother.

How old are you? It would never occur to me to wear makeup at the pool or be afraid for a boyfriend/husband to see me without makeup. This is bananas

I get it, op. I used to have really bad skin. Concealer doesn't tend to come off in the pool or lake. Just use a tinted moisturizer and concealer with waterproof mascara and you should be fine! Have fun!

Have you googled what you need? There are tons of waterproof makeup products. Many of the brands you commonly wear probably make a waterproof version.

I tend to agree. Men do know there’s a difference when you wear makeup and not. If your appearance is so “bad” without makeup that he doesn’t want to see you anymore, this guys SUCKS. I understand wanting to put your best foot forward, but part of that is being confident that your personality outshines your under eye circles.

Wear large sunglasses? I often do this so I can wear contact lenses without worrying about getting splashed. And, of course, there’s the Sun.
