Hi all, I am having a heck of time finding an elegant long gown for several black tie weddings and a future mother-of the bride dress. I feel like most of the dresses on the Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman, etc. websites are either for younger women (with cut-outs, deep V necks) or very matronly. I am also somewhat petite (5'4", 128 lbs) so many of the gowns are just too much fabric.
Anyway, I often see women at other weddings with really cool, elegant dresses and wonder where they got them! Can anyone share some websites that aren't the typical ones? I just don't know where else to look and I am sure there are probably tons of places I just don't know about! Thank you! |
Soliloquy Bridal in Herndon has a great selection of mother of the bride gowns. |
Also try the Lord and Taylor website. |
I gave up and took a weekend trip to NYC. |
I go on RealReal. Agree the dresses in the sores are nothing to get excited about. |
Stores not sores |
David's Bridal |
The Outnet |
I would try Rent the Runway |
Chiara Boni and Talbot Runhof both make decent gowns for this age group |
Obviously you get the gown tailored. |
Lord and Taylor |
This age group? I'm 53 and shop at the same places I did at 43. Not 33 only because I have more money so can spend more. |
I’m a fan of some of the simpler cuts from Adriana Papell. Nordstrom and Bloomies carry some. There are more colors on AP’s site. |
