For 30-50 people. Anywhere in the DMV would work as guests live in dc, va and md.

Boteneros in King Farm Rockville. Interesting small plates menu. Nice private room.

The moldy basement in your overpriced shithole Virginia house. Get a DJ and some catering. Move some furniture.

Have the kids sleep over a friend's house so they don't see neighbor vomit all over the carpet when he's had a few too many.

DP. Any other suggestions? Looking for a lively spot with good food, preferably in DC or close in MD. Probably around 40-50 people. Thanks!

What is the budget, OP?

My favorite party venue is one with view, so I would consider the roof of Charlie Palmer, the top of Hay Adams, the “Top of the Town” in Arlington, the terrace at the Pharmacists Association. But am I way over budget?

I’m not OP, but I just revived the thread Budget is flexible. Hay Adams may be a bit much (and more formal than I’m looking for), but I’m ok spending a decent amount for a fun place with good views. Was thinking maybe Officina or somewhere on the Wharf might be fun.

Whoops. Disregard. Misread 30-50 as a much smaller number.

Look at top of the town. It has a great view but it’s not fancy - a little weird even. But a really fun party space.

PP again, I think you can also rent part of Sequioa and House if Sweden in Georgetown.

I was just getting ready to post about this and found this thread. We were trying to secure Rose's Luxury for a birthday party, but it's booked. Any similar recommendations? Pineapple and Pearl's menu is too limiting.

Rooftop bar and lounge at The Eaton on K St. in DC. Fun and cute/colorful decor with gorgeous views from the outside deck. I went to a bride/groom pre-wedding celebration here.

Rooftop at The Riggs on F St. in DC. I went to a male friend's 50th bday party here. There was a DJ, several small round tables, a bar, and plenty of space for dancing. Outside deck area with gorgeous views.

At both venues lots of partying/dancing and plenty of space. There were 50+ people at both events. You can't go wrong with either.

What is a decent amount? Be specific.
