Why are there no good studies of the benefits of organic foods? It seems to be such a popular topic among consumers, and it definitely costs money to do it. I think the results here say that there is no real difference in nutrient content, but it would be good to know if pesticides/herbicides/hormones/animal feed have any negative effects.

There was a study that made the news, last week, about pestisides and ADHD.

Its not that organic is more 'healthy' because organic fruits/vegs have more vitamins or minerals. Its because you arent ingesting horrible chemicals that cause all sorts of problems. So, depending on how you look at it, they can be seen as healthy because last time I checked chemicals are not good for your body.

Nature makes chemicals, too. So it's not as easy as saying 'chemicals are bad'. And if you think that organic farming is chemical-free, that's not true, either. They have allowable pesticides. They are plant-derived, but they are still chemicals and some of them are used to poison fish. And somehow about 1/3 of organic produce has synthetic pesticides as well.
