Recommended green energy suppliers in MoCo?

I've suffered from paralysis by analysis for far too long. I want to switch away from Pepco but I don't really understand how that works to get energy from a "green" supplier (recognizing that all energy has environmental costs). I'm also cost-sensitive because DH is skeptical about whether our energy bills will go drastically up.

Putting solar on our house is not an option as we are shaded by very large trees, so I'm just looking to make the billing switch.

Any recommendations for or against?
