Teachers -- do you like the KidsMuseum programs?

S/o of the thread about the contract being approved w/o a competitive bid. (Which I think is not unusual for a renewal.)

You have to pay for them. We tried to ask for a waiver for a virtual program and we’re told no.

Except it wasn't a renewal. So make up garbage and start a thread?

Upstairs in the library or downstairs in the museum?

Everything kid museum does can be done at regular middle school tech programs if MCPS would support those programs more. Middle school tech is mostly ignored at the county level leaving teachers to make their own activities and curriculums. Principals like to make a big deal about the kid museum to make their school look better. It’s about $3000 to take students to the kid museum for a day. That money can easily be spent smarter in schools.

There isn't anything comparable around here and it's really nothing short of amazing!

Tell that to the 4 other companies that would have bid on this contract.

Ugh, the same Kid Museum booster (staff? Joftus family member?) on all these threads, with such lame attempts to claim it’s amazing …
..try not to use exclamation points so much. It’s making your posts even less believable.

We looked in to it at my middle school a few years ago. I believe it was for the Invent the Future program. The cost at the time was too high for the population at my school.

Agreed! MS Tech could be SO much better and this money could be better spent.

They could charge 10X for these programs, and they'd still be worth every penny.
