Hi! It’s our first trip with baby and we have 6 suitcases and 2 carry ons. What is the best way to get to Dulles besides Super Shuttle or an Uber XL (worried the latter won’t be big enough depending on which car shows up)? Thanks so much! |
Just get an airport taxi/shuttle (not super shuttle but a prearranged taxi) |

Leave at least half the stuff at home. |
That's enough luggage for a permanent move, OP.
I never had that much stuff even when moving somewhere with two kids for 6 months! I think I called Supershuttle. |
we are a family of 4 that travelled with 6 suitcases and 4 backpacks this summer. uber xl worked very well here as well as europe. go for it |
A private car service/party bus type thing |
Take less stuff. Much less. |
Drive and park. Better to have your own car seat, etc. Spring for the daily parking which will make life so much easier. |
This. And then Uber XL. |
Uber or friend. Order diapers/wipes at destination. |
6 suitcases is insane. Can’t see how you’d need more than 2. If you’re taking piles of baby stuff: 1) you really don’t need it; and 2) you should ship things ahead.
Agree with advice to drive yourself. |
I really want to be helpful here, but I am so curious about the 6 suitcases. Are they full of gifts for family?
We typically get Uber XLs or Flyer and they can fit our 4-5 suitcases plus carry ons. Depending on how big these suitcases are they can probably fit 6. |
+1 to omg 6 suitcases? Cut way down if you can get or orfder stuff at your destination.
First choice: Find a friend or pay your nanny/ babysitter to drive you. Ideally they help you get into airport. Same at return. Second choice: taxi. Most companies will send a large vehicle if requested. |
We take 2 suitcases per person when we travel to visit our families back in Asia. We carry gifts for a lot of people, and this is common in our community of immigrants. I don’t know why people think this is so unusual.
OP, we take 2 cabs to the airport. |
