So so scary. We don’t have any of these but if I did I would toss them immediately. |
| Wow, so scary, glad he’s ok! No metal straws here. |
| What is point to metal straws? I only need a straw when I’m walking around drinking something, but I have always been wary of a metal spear in my mouth. |
| That’s mind-blowing. What amazing work by the doctors. I picked up some silicone straws to have reusable ones. Mainly because I liked the colors - never thought about the danger from metal ones. How horrific. |
|
A remember hearing a story a few years back about how an adult woman tripped and punctured her eye with one. I believe it also entered her brain and she died.
I got silicone ones that open up to wash them and they’re so much better. Safer and they get cleaner. |
| Really? The article even says this was a freak accident. |
| No metal straws for us! |
| I don’t suffer from anxiety, so I will continue to use my metal straws. |
| We also use silicone for this reason. Some accidents in life are unavoidable but this is such an easy switch. |
| No way I’ll ever use one of those! Horrific! |
Same. |
Yea, things are just so ridiculous until they happen to you or yours. Amirite? |
What kind of an idiot would give a metal straw to a child or bedridden person! Paper straws are available. |
|
| Yikes. We use reusable plastic straws. Still rigid but not metal. I wonder if they could cause the same time of injury? Freak accident so I’m not getting rid of them, just curious. |
