I got Hex from target after seeing it recommended here, but just realized that I bought the fabric protectant rather than detergent! Does this work too? Or should I return and get the detergent? |
Yes, take it back and get the laundry detergent. They have different ingredients. |
To add to my post above, there are two other detergents that work as well or arguably better than Hex. One is called "Win Sports Detergent" (liquid) and the other is called "Rockin Green Active Wear Detergent" (powder). They all work great in my opinion and I'm a guy who absolutely destroys his gym clothes with sweat. You can buy all of them on Amazon. If scented detergents bother you both Win and Hex will leave a mild smell in your gym clothes unless you get an unscented version. Rockin Green does not leave any scent. |
Baking soda. Start with three tablespoons per load. Smell and adjust as needed. |
Op here, thanks for the suggestions!!! |
Either Tide or Persil laundry detergent. Lysol or Chlorox laundry sanitizer instead of fabric softener and let it sit for 20 minutes afterwards. |
Another vote for the Lysol sanitizer. |
Simple Green! A splash with any detergent. |
Win for the win! I also think it works great. |
I think a binding spell would be better in this circumstance. |
Win detergent is fantastic. |
Soak clothes in a white vinegar/water solution for ~15 minutes before washing. |
The spray sold in the pet section to take the urine smell out of carpet also works wonders as a pre wash spray for work out clothes and camping gear. We spray it one and then wash with our regular detergent and also add in Lysol laundry sanitizer. |
On the Hex, just wanted to say that I bought the scented version and am not a fan of the smell. If you want to try it, I’d recommend starting with the unscented version. |
Anything in particular for arm pit smell? To spray on that area before washing. That problem seems to shorten the life of all my shirt. |
