Used Prius Prime $45k

I was at carmax and they had a used Prius Prime for $45k. Am I crazy? How is this car worth so much. Is it worth the price in today’s market? Dh May get transferred to CA so slightly fuel sensitive right now.

Year and mileage?

I'd certainly sell you mine for that!

Don't buy it. You can find certain brands at MSRP if looking for a new car. I got one and waited 2 weeks for delivery. It's not EV or hybrid though.

Look at Nissan Leaf as a new car, they are somewhat available.

Used car prices are unbelievable. My 11 year old car is selling for 50% of new original price, just sold it.

Don't be a fool and buy a used car right now.

I think you would be better off buying a new car vs. used. It would hold the value better.

It was a 2022 Limited with 4K miles.

At that price, better to get a Used Tesla Model S for similar price. Charge it at the library for free. CA gas is $5 a gallon usually. Or pay a bit more and get Tesla Model 3 NEW.

I bought my 2021 Prius prime for 27000 and I got the 7500 tax incentive so it’s hard to see how that’s worth it.

It’s the catalytic converter. Most likely they will buy the car and sell it for the catalytic converter!

join facebook prius prime groups.
I have a 2017. Love the damn thing.
Tax credits have been phased out for this vehicle. The markup is 8k by dealer for a new on and 5 to 6 months wait.
I would not spend that much money for it. I like it but not 45k of like. 2017 out the door went for 19,000 with the tax write off of 4502. Well worth that but not 45k. If u buy new for that price it is worth it.

I was in San Diego last week and gas was $6.50 a gallon pretty much everywhere.

I have a 2020 Prius prime I think for around $25,000. We love the Prius prime.

DH works in the battery industry so he was really pushing for us to buy it.

We plug in every night. We get 25 miles on the electric charge and then the car rolls into using gas for fuel. The $45k is an amazing price.

I"m the 9:14 poster. We also got the $7500 tax credit.

I bought a used Prius just before the pandemic - and there were many to choose from. Now the Toyota dealer lots have no used priuses and there is a long wait list for new Priuses. So glad we got ours before pandemic but dreading having to replace it.

According to buyatoyota.com you should be able to get much better deals than that for new cars though …

2022 Prius L Eco (58 MPG) $26, 100-26,600 k new at Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda

Buyatouita.com also lists 13 prius primes for sale at JCT
For example,
2022 Prius prime LE $30,319k in silver and black
2022 Prius Prime LE in silver and gray metallic and fabric seats for $30,328

You should be able to get a better deal than 45k even in this area.
