| I was doing finances yesterday and realized we spent $1,00 on wine and other alcohol last year. I would love to cut that bill (and not by drinking less). Any suggestions for where I can buy wine in large orders? I live in Maryland. |
| Where do buy it now, how much do you typically spend per bottle and how much do you drink in a week? |
| Total Wine often has deals on winery direct wines. |
| Buy it by the case and you’ll get at least a 10% discount most places. Don’t ever buy wine at the grocery store. Way overpriced. Total Wine seems to have the lowest prices where I live. |
| DC Costco. |

Maybe you should cut back your drinking. That's a lot of booze.
|
Not really. $83 a month is probably 1-2 bottles per week, depending on their price point. For two people, that’s not excessive. |
$1000 over the course of a year is not that much, you’re overreacting. |
|
OP here. Yes, I was surprised by how much we had spent but think it's probably also from hosting social occasions, taking champagne or good wine as gifts to other people's places, and sometimes indulging in more expensive bottles.
Thanks for all the suggestions. |
| Total Wine, hands down |
+1 Total Wine in Laurel using coupons. DC Costco also good. |
| The LA store next to the Beltville Costco is cheaper or same price as Total Wine. |

A lot of MD liquor stores do $1 day promos, where everything is $1 over wholesale.
Find out when they do them. We stock up at Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits in Annapolis when they do their dollar day. Bin 201 at Annapolis Towne Centre is doing their dollar day today. |
| That is not a lot over the course of a year unless you're buying 2 buck chuck. We probably spend at least double that but don't buy anything under $15/bottle and DH likes IPAs and bourbon. |
