Under actviities, where would you list 'Counselor-in-traning' (CIT)? DD did one summeer of CIT coaching (unpaid) at a sports camp, and was a paid coach the next summer How would she best show that progression?

TIA.

I would list both if there's room, but otherwise only list the paid coaching position as the "progression" is more or less assumed.

If you don’t want to list separately, you could combine and note CIT 2021. They’ll know what CIT means so no need to use up more characters.

Yes, unless she is short on other activities, I would list these together, with the progression included in the explanation.

(So use the 'Work (paid)" category, and then just note that she was a CIT the first year?

I would combine, and show the progression in your description. Something like, "Advanced from Counselor-in-Training to paid coach" OR "After serving as a Counselor-in-Training for three months, was promoted to a paid coaching position."

I would word it differently because everyone is a CIT and they will just roll their eyes at it.

Thanks!

It is a common and age appropriate position by which admissions will not be wowed but they certainly won’t roll their eyes. It shows some leadership and responsibility. Not a ticket to Harvard but beats being a camper or doing nothing.

That’s what I would do. They’ll see the progression then.
