APS where’s the bus?

Anonymous
Great idea, but if it never updates, and the bus number randomly changes, how is this helpful?

All the parents at our stop were standing next to each other and our apps all had the bus in different places and headed in different directions. It was incomprehensible. In the end the bus never arrived at all and we had to drive our kids. Total APS transportation fail.

It worked fine for us this afternoon

My kid’s bus seems to be parked at Fleet. He doesn’t go to school at Fleet and he should be home by now. Do the drivers need to input location data for the system to work?

Oh no - now the bus is finally moving, but it’s driving further away from us! This would be a particularly bad development if this were actually my kid’s bus (fingers crossed that it’s not).

Today is Day 1. Give them a break. Have you ever been part of a software launch at a large company? There are always some tweaks that need to be made the first few days and then some.

NP - I’m not complaining, just observing here. This afternoon, the app showed the bus still at school when the kid was walking in the front door.

What mechanism does it use to update? I’m guessing it is not automatic like an AirTag?

Mine worked great (bus 708)

Honestly, I don’t think I’m being overly harsh. I fully appreciate that new software can be tricky, and nobody is launching into anyone personally. Of course mistakes happen! It is also true that I was told I could rely on this app to give me peace of mind about my kid’s bus and that I could rely on it to tell me when to expect him home. In retrospect, they clearly linked my kid to the wrong vehicle. I feel pretty comfortable saying that wasn’t a great way to start the year for us, even if there’s a reasonable human error explanation.

I was less concerned by the app than the fact the bus never came. That was a big fail.

There's been a GPS glitch with many software programs for the past week including Waze and Google Maps. It uses very similar technology. This is not a product that APS created.

Someone on this site reported that their Life 360 was showing inaccurate locations this week. It's a GPS issue.

Mine seemed to work fine. I could tell it picked up at Wakefield, took forever dropping kids off, picked up my kid 15 minutes after dismissal, and then followed the expected route. No complaints and normal first day delaya

What’s the link to this app? My daughter will take the bus tomorrow. We never received information about this

All families received an email with the info on 8/24:
