What is happening with Instacart? any alternative?

Anonymous
My last few experiences with Instacart have been bad. No communication during shopping. The shopper just dropped off the groceries without notification and by the time we noticed things were unfrozen.
Another shopper went back with alcohol without calling us. Deliveries are hours late. Lately, Shoppers don't try to substitute, they just refund. I usually have replacements selected but sometimes I might miss it for new items. It seems like things are going really down.

Are other people having the same experience?
Is there any good alternative out there? For the last 2 years, I have been doing 99% of my grocery shopping with Instacart.

TIA

The obvious answer here is go to the grocery store yourself.

I haven’t had any problems with Whole Foods via the Amazon app.

Do people who make posts like this ignore all of the news about the labor shortage?

I'm still having good experiences with Instacart shopping at Wegman's. In fact, I think service has gotten faster. I guess it depends on location and store.

+1 just got instacart from Safeway today and it was the best experience I’ve had with them in a couple months

We ordered a grocery pickup via Safeway’s website here in MoCo a couple weeks ago and it worked really well.

Grocery pickup works better OP, but you still have to have patience.

I’m ready to quit Instacart because the fees are so ridiculously high, it has exceeded its benefit. My tipping has dramatically decreased because the service fees are so high and they are charging dramatically more for food than it costs in the store.

For some things maybe, but with Amazon there are no substitutions . . . it's in stock and reserved for you or it doesn't show up on your search. I like that assurance. With grocery pick-up you're depending on the employee to pick meat and produce for you, determine which substitution you'd be pleased with . . . it's expecting a lot for someone with that job to ace those things all the time. I just got back from my Kroger pick-up with multiple items just not replaced/delivered. Luckily they weren't must-haves but it's annoying.
