Anyone take bioidentical hormones?

If so, where do you go to get them and how much do you pay per month?
Anonymous
I take bioidentical progesterone. Bioidentical can be prescribed by any obgyn.

Same for progesterone. It costs $66 for two month supply. OB/GYN prescribes them.

“Bioidentical” is just a marketing thing, equivalent to “natural” for foods. Any FDA-approved HRT is fine. If you must go the compounded route, look for one that’s PCAB accredited - there’s no FDA oversight of them.

^ “one” meaning a compounding pharmacy.

There’s a good rundown of what “bioidentical” is about in this podcast episode with Jen Gunter:

14:28 here. Agreed. I get it from a compounding pharmacy. I don't get the "bioidentical" label. Seems unnecessary.

What form are PP’s getting their progesterone in? Are you all post menopausal?

And how often do you take it?

Mine is a topical lotion that I apply every night. I'm in peri-menopause but was experiencing very disruptive dizziness. It's sorta of odd but I had everything else tested and it was continuing for a long time and my ob/gyn was willing to give progesterone a shot. And, it's helped immensely.

What brand do you use and what dose?

I get it from a compounding pharmacy so there's no brand. I take 100 mg in cream form a night.
