I had just seen a promo for this the other day when a new internet friend posted about surviving Andrew 30 years ago. I told her she would probably relate to some of the Katrina survivors stories.

OP here: Good point on Andrew. I lived in Biloxi during Katrina (was early teens) and have recently started dating someone who was mid-teens living in Lower Nine, and it just occurred to me that he’s never referenced his experience at all. I’ve been through several hurricanes throughout my life and have moved all over the gulf and southeastern coast, and I don’t think any of us really talk about it. I’m looking forward to watching this.
