| Heading to Villanova this weekend for a self guided tour. Anything we should make sure we see while up there? Lunch recommendations? TIA. |
| It is a compact, very pretty school. You’ll be able to get a good feel. The church is beautiful if that matters at all. Don’t have eatery advice, I honestly think we did a quick Starbucks run down the road. One fun thing … count how many Villanova students you see who AREN’T wearing school gear. It was crazy how much purple blue? We saw when we visited. The school LOVES its gear … more than any other we visited. |
OP here. Thanks for the info! |
I don’t know all that much about the campus itself but it’s not too far from Manayunk, which is a cool little shopping/bars/restaurant area. Anything on Main Street is good but I love Taqueria Amor. Ardmore is an area that’s a bit closer. There’s a restaurant and brewery called Iron Hill that’s pretty good. Those are both probably 15 minutes away from campus so hopefully others will chime in with closer options! |
| I’ve heard good things about the restaurant “the refectory” at Villanova. |
| The church is nice. I lived in Wayne right after college and went there for Sunday mass because I loved it so much. Bryn Mawr is close too right on Rt. 30 with lots of good restaurants and my favorite movie theater in the whole world. BMFI's online programming got me through the thick of the pandemic. Wayne is just as close and has good restaurants too! |
That's pretty far--I would probably go to First Watch or La Scala's Fire in the Starbucks shopping center right by Villanova. |
| If you have extra time you could drive over to Chanticleer (gardens). |
|
In Wayne- White Dog Cafe, Mineral's (if you like diners).
In Bryn Mawr- The Juice Pod, Snap Pizza, Hopes Cookies. The Grog for a college bar feel. Take a few minutes to drive behind the law school/St Mary's- the homes over there are amazing. In the gym lobby they have the floor with diagram where Jenkins hit winning shot to secure national title. In Bartley Hall there is an amazing room set up like a Wall Street trading desk for students to practice. |
| La Scala's Fire was delicious! |
