What are some of your favorites places to shop for maternity wear? What brands are reliable in terms of fit? Any tips?
I’m especially desperate for options for bras, a few work-appropriate pieces (business casual), and leggings/biker shorts with pockets. The bra situation has been discouraging, just want to find something that fits and is comfortable. I’ve measured myself a thousand times trying to figure out different sizing charts. Saw Kindred Bravely recommended many places for bras, but I’ve now been through three orders with no luck in finding comfort. I ordered their most popular sleep/nursing bra in a couple of sizes and sports bras. Beyond Yoga’s bike shorts have pockets, so splurged on a few. Sadly the seam is unraveling in multiple places after a couple of hours of wear. :-/ Suggestions? What are your go-to’s? |
Old Navy for cheap stuff. Nike has nice athletic pants/shorts. I was able to find Nike stuff on sale in odd colors— not sure how often it’s on sale.
Also, lots of people post maternity wear on buy nothing etc groups. |
I have a really hard time with bras too. Basically I just resorted to buying a bunch of cheap ones from Amazon until I found something tolerable. And I always order way up in sizes, I’ve found maternity bra sizes run extremely small. The best maternity clothes I’ve had have been hand-me-downs, and I’m not sure on the brands.
I have gotten a few maternity things from Pact Organic recently (I’m in my third pregnancy) which I like and are comfortable. I find sizing at Pact difficult- I’ve had to exchange things. The non maternity tops run small and the bottoms large/true to size. Maternity items have run big. |
I pretty much got everything I needed from Hatch and Seraphine. |
For work, I liked Storq’s black t-shirt dress and pencil skirt. Easy to dress up with blazers. Lululemon’s align leggings worked well throughout (no pockets). |
Target, Old Navy, Amazon |
I found Rent the Runway to be very helpful. |
If you wear larger sizes, im a big fan of Lane Bryant's bras. Not sure how small their bras go, but might want to check them out.
For clothes i've found the most luck with old navy and H&M. I've had to order and return alot though, its so hard to find things that fit online! |
For work, Seraphine (they have these bundles that include black/white basics) is good. I also loved my Storq t-shirt dress. For bras, I just have been wearing cheap Target maternity bras. No good advice there. |
I am very picky about how bras feel, and I had buy a size up in the band from Soma. Not a maternity bra but this one is comfortable. https://www.soma.com/store/product/enbliss+wireless+bra/570222679?color=4654&catId=cat12269300 |
Girlfriend collective has bike shorts with pockets: https://girlfriend.com/products/midnight-high-rise-pocket-bike-short
I got a few pieces from Storq and some pants/ shirts from ThredUp. I had better luck getting non-maternity wear in larger sizes - like sized up J Crew button downs, Everlane v-neck t shirts, Athleta joggers/ wide legs like these https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=657598002&vid=1#pdp-page-content For bras, I pretty much just wore sports bras. The girlfriend collective nursing ones are also comfy. These Target pullover ones are still my go-tos, but they don't have much support: https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-nursing-2pk-pullover-seamless-sleep-bra-auden-8482-white-mauve-l/. |
For bras, I just size up on the non-underwire bras I usually wear. |
For leggings / bike shorts with pockets, I get lululemon align (w/pockets) and size up one size. |
+1. And your friends/neighbors. |
Old Navy, Target, Motherhood, ASOS, Pink Blush. For bras I just got nursing bras. They are more comfy. |
